Markets are a great place to buy not only fresh produce but also shoes, handbags, clothing, and housewares! It's a great place to interact with locals and support the local community. 

Markets are typically held in the main piazza and the surrounding streets, and start in the morning, around 7.

Porto Sant'Elpidio, the shoe-making center of the Marche, hosts a huge shoe market Thursday evenings in the summer. Via C. Battisti, Piazza Garibaldi, Via Principe Umberto.

Ancona has a food market Tuesdays-Saturdays in Corso Mazzini.

Bring cash, and your own shopping bags are helpful but not required.
